I believe that good relationships with students are a key component at developing a positive learning environment. I personally meet and discuss school and classroom standards with students and parents in and out of the classroom. Many of the parents are my personal friends. I make it a point to meet and discuss student performance with parents during and after school hours.

Standard II: Reflection:
Cultural diversity is one of the greatest challenges that we face in this country today. We live at a time where there are a multitude of people with different life styles, habits and languages living in close proximately to one another. This diversity can trigger great challenges of one another if we are not familiar with the life and habits of others. Allah reminds us in the Qur’an that He has created us into nations and tribes so that we may know one another. This Qur’anic verse highlights the great importance related to diversity. Teachers in Al-Iman School must work hard to strengthen their cultural proficiency and competency. It becomes very difficult to understand students if we are not familiar with their behavior and customs.
